Texas Pete Sauteed Garlic Flavor Hot Sauce - A medium heat on the heat index.
Texas Pete Garlic Catfish:
- 1 1/2 pounds of catfish fillets, cut in serving pieces
- 1/2 cup yellow cornmeal Salt to taste
- 1/4 cup Texas Pete Garlic Hot Sauce
- 3/4 cup buttermilk1/2 cup flour
- 1/2 cup vegetable oilIn a shallow dish, combine cornmeal and salt.
Put flour on a piece of waxed paper or waxed paper plate. In another shallow dish marinate catfish fillets in Texas Pete Garlic Hot Sauce for 7-10 minutes. Remove fillets and add buttermilk to Texas Pete Garlic Hot Sauce, stirring well. Dip fish in buttermilk mixture, shake off excess and coat with flour. Dip again in buttermilk mixture, then coat with seasoned cornmeal. In large, heavy skillet, heat oil over medium-high heat until hot. Fry fish about 5 mins on each side, depending on thickness, or until fish just begins to flake. Serve with additional Texas Pete Garlic Hot Sauce splashed on to taste.
